Description

Polshot Manor is a hall house dating back to the 15th century, with later extensions from the late 18th and 19th centuries. The original structure is timber framed, set upon a brick and render plinth, with whitewashed brick infill above. The right-hand portion features coursed, galleted ironstone with brick dressings. The extensions are built of sandstone rubble, under plain tiled roofs, one hipped with a gablet to the left. The main house has one storey and an attic, with single-storey extensions to the front.

The house originally comprised four framed bays. A tall inserted stack is centrally placed, with a further stack to the right. Tall gabled bays project slightly to the left and right of the centre, each with "V"ogee bracing on the first floor to the right-hand side. Each bay has a three-light casement window with diamond panes on both the ground and first floors. A gabled porch, centrally located, features a moulded planked door.

The rear of the house displays a dated hopper from 1793 on the downpipe. Some ironstone rubble infills the frame. There is a pentice to the left of centre, and a two-storey brick and rubblestone wing to the left end.
