Description
Nos 82 and 84 Ockford Road, originally known as Copper Hall, is a building dated 1777, constructed for John Merriott. It has been altered over time. The structure is made of painted brick in a Flemish bond pattern and features a plain tile roof. It stands two storeys high with two bays. The central entrance consists of paired 20th-century doors, with each floor having flanking 2-light, leaded casement windows. The ground-floor openings are topped with segmental brick arches, except for the left-hand door (No 82). The left-hand ground-floor window has board shutters. A datestone at the centre of the first floor reads in capital letters: 'Copper Hall/built by/John Merriott/ 1777'. There is a skylight at the eaves on the right side and a stack at the left end.
