Description

The lodge to Pierrepont School, built between 1876 and 1878 by architect R. N. Shaw for Richard Henry Combe, is a single-storey structure with a T-shaped plan. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tiled half-hipped roof adorned with ridge cresting. The hip-ends are timber framed with whitewashed render infill. The front elevation has a central break beneath the half-hip end, which includes a square bay window supported by a billeted tie beam. There is one casement window on either side of the bay. Additionally, a diagonally placed casement window is located at the centre of the right-hand hip-end. The entrance door is situated in the re-entrant angle with the rear wing.
