Description

Spreakley House is a house with a 17th-century core, substantially remodelled in the late 19th century. It is timber framed and has roughcast whitewashed walls, covered by a plain tiled roof which is half-hipped and gabled on one wing. The house is arranged in a T-shape with a projecting wing to the right. It has two storeys, with the wing’s gable being jettied. A front stack is located to the left, and an end ridge stack is to the left on a lower extension. Windows are fitted with leaded casements; three are on the first floor and one is on the ground floor to the right. A square bay window rises through both floors of the cross wing, with one window on each floor. The front door is located to the left of the centre, within a splay-sided porch with a transome light above and a flat, braced hood. A two-story extension is set back to the left and includes a gabled dormer window.
