Description
The lodge at the west entrance to the school, likely built in the 1860s by Devey, features an ironstone plinth with half-timbering above that includes whitewashed roughcast infill. It has a tiled roof adorned with ornamental bargeboards and finials, as well as an ironstone chimney, all designed in a Tudor style. The building is one storey high and faces the drive, showcasing two bays. On the left, there is a gabled projection with patterned timbering, and a canted bay window fitted with wooden casements. To the right, there is a paired casement window. At the center, a gabled porch connects to the main structure and displays a small wooden shield with the initials AI above a modern door. A modern extension made of whitewashed roughcast is located at the rear. The lodge is included for its stylistic and historic associations with the house.
