Description
The stable block, built in the 1860s by G. Devey, is now used as school rooms. It features an ironstone plinth with half-timbered construction above, displaying some patterning and whitewashed roughcast infill. There is a brick wing to the north. The building has tiled roofs with bargeboards that include elaborately carved finials and brackets at the base, along with small ironstone chimneys serving the grooms' chambers. The architectural style is designed to match that of the adjacent house.
This one-storey structure has irregular facades with gabled projections and some jettying. The south front consists of five bays with high wooden mullion windows, which have 1946 metal casements below. The east front features a blocked entrance with a moulded stone pointed arch, buttresses, and a clock tower to the right. The clock tower has four stages, with a half-timbered top and clock, while the lower sections are roughcast and include stone lancet windows and buttresses, topped with a pyramid roof.
Inside, there is a large central hall with pointed arched entrances leading to the former stables, carriages, and washing area. The rear of the building contains flats for grooms and a riding school, all of which have been converted for school use.
