Description

The Temple of Friendship, located to the southeast of the Mansion at Stowe School, is a Grade I listed ruined Tuscan temple designed by architect James Gibbs in 1739. This large structure features a portico with a semi-circular arched doorway that is flanked by two blank arches, as well as two open arches on either side of the portico. The facade rises above the portico and includes a central inscribed tablet that is flanked by roundels, topped with a moulded cornice adorned with four stone balls.
