Description
The Lake Pavilions are a pair of stone structures located flanking the southern vista at Stowe School. They were built around 1730 by the architect Sir John Vanbrugh. Each pavilion features a pedimented portico supported by four fluted Doric columns, with decorated friezes above. Access to the pavilions is via stone steps. The pavilions were moved further apart and modified around 1760 by architect Giovanni Battista Borra.
