Description
The Hermitage, also known as Shepherds Cove, is a sham ruin built before 1732 by architect William Kent. It features rock-faced stone and an elliptical arched opening with heavy voussoirs. The pediment is adorned with a carved wreath and panpipes, and there is a small incomplete turret on the right that has a round arched opening.
