Description

Stowe Castle is a farmhouse dating to around 1740, likely designed by Robert Gibbs. It is characterised by high rubble stone curtain walls and battlements that formerly formed a backdrop to a garden vista. The farmhouse is roughly square, with four corner towers. The inner elevation is two storeys high and has a tiled, lean-to roof. It features two-light casement windows; the ground floor windows have segmental arches above them. There are two large doorways with ogree arches.
