Description

The Marriott Tomb, located 30 yards north of the Church of St. Peter, is a chest tomb dedicated to Mrs. S. Marriott, who died in 1786. It is made of stone and features a plinth with a moulded base and panelled sides. The corners are decorated with a Greek key design, and there are shields carved at both the east and west ends. The tomb has tapering round angle piers with cable fluting and a flat lid with lobed corners, which is topped by stone spheres, one of which on the east side is broken.
