Description
The Manor House is a late 18th-century house, possibly designed by Samuel Savage, with early 19th-century and 20th-century extensions to the rear. It is constructed of rendered brick upon a plinth, with slate mansard roofs. Architectural features include an end stack to the left, a front ridge stack to the right of centre, and additional stacks to the rear. The house has two storeys and an attic, lit by three flat-roofed dormers with glazing bar sash windows. Five glazing bar sash windows are positioned across the first floor, and a blocked ground floor window appears to the right of centre. The central portion of the front features a 19th-century half-glazed door, topped by a fanlight set within a semi-circular portico. This portico has a dentilled entablature and acanthus leaf capitals to two columns and pilasters. A wing extends at a right angle to the rear right, featuring a plain tiled roof. Further extensions are set back to the right, incorporating a flat porch hood supported by a single column over a door in the right-hand return front.
