Description

The Drake Tomb, located 1 yard east of the chancel of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, is a chest tomb dedicated to R? Drake. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of stone on a moulded stone plinth. The tomb features panelled sides and large gadrooned corner piers. The lid is made of a darker stone with moulded edges and has a Coat of Arms carved on top. At the time of the re-survey, the inscription was partly illegible.
