Description
The White Lion Public House is a 17th-century building that has undergone early 20th-century additions at both ends. Originally a house, it is now a public house. The structure features a timber frame clad in knapped flint rubble, with brick bandings and dressings at the center. There is applied timbering with rendered infill over a rendered ground floor at the ends. The roofs are plain tiled, with a ridge stack located to the right of the center, end stacks on the sides of the outer wings, and additional stacks at the rear. The building has a recessed central range with projecting gable front wings at either end. It stands two stories tall, showcasing three lucarne sash windows across the center of the first floor, two glazing bar sash windows to the first floor on the right, and one on the left. There are two early 20th-century arched and partially glazed doors with panels below, situated under gabled open timber porches to the left and right of the center. The rear of the building is weatherboarded.
