Description
The Anglia Building Society is a house that has been converted into offices. Originally built in the 17th century, it underwent alterations in the 19th century. The building features a timber frame with rendered cladding at the bottom and exposed timber at the eaves, with rendered infilling. It has a plain tiled roof and is two storeys high, consisting of three framed bays. On the first floor, there are two three-light metal diamond pane leaded casement windows. The ground floor has two square bay shop windows with "Gothick" arched head glazing bars. In the centre, there are two half-glazed doors set in similar panelled surrounds, which are topped by blocked transom lights and flanked by half pilasters with triglyph capitals. A bracket between the doors supports fascia boards, and there is a flat lintelled throughway at the right end of the building.
