Description
Whitman and Parker, Solicitors is a house that has been converted into an office. Originally built in the 17th century, it was refaced in the 18th century. The building features a timber frame, which is clad in colourwashed render, and has brick angle quoins, wooden boxed eaves, and a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high on a plinth and has a large stack at the rear center. The front has three bays with a regular arrangement, although the center window on the first floor is blocked. There are two 6-pane cambered-head sash windows on each floor. A 20th-century panelled door, which has the top two panels glazed, is located to the left of center. At the rear, there is a parallel range with lower, hip-roofed wings that are set at right angles to the front. Inside, the partition wall frame is exposed on the first floor, and there are ceiling spine beams on the ground floor.
