Description

This building in Chertsey Street, Guildford, is a house which has been altered to become a shop and offices. The front of the building dates to the 18th century, but it stands on a 17th-century structure. The upper part of the front is constructed of grey header brick with red brick dressings; the lower part is of red brick. The roof is tiled, partly hidden by a parapet. The building is two storeys high and has a rear stack. A wide plat band runs above the ground floor, and a moulded brick cornice is located at the base of the parapet. There are three 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, which are 20th-century replacements. To the left is a shop window with a door, and a recessed plate-glass window is to the right. The rear of the building features 20th-century developments that are not of particular architectural interest.
