Description

Nos 14, 16, and 18 Chertsey Street is a row of houses and a cottage, currently used as a shop and offices. The building dates from the 17th century on the left side and the 18th century on the right, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The right side features whitewashed brick, while the left is rendered over 20th-century brick and glass at the ground floor. The roofs are plain tiled and step up towards the right. The structure is two storeys high with an attic in the right-hand range, which has a stack at the rear right. The right range has a pediment with modillioned eaves and a two-light attic window. On the first floor, there are two cambered-head 19th-century casement windows, and the left range has three 19th and 20th-century sash windows. The ground floor has plate glass shop fronts with plate-glass doors in the centre.
