Description

The walls and railings at the front of Hawke House date from the 18th and 19th centuries. They are constructed of brown and red brick, with some repairs in yellow brick from the 20th century, and are set on a cement plinth to the right. The structure features brick coping and buttresses. There is a 15-meter stretch of wall to the north, which angles for an additional 12 meters and slopes down to a low entrance opposite numbers 80 and 82. To the left end, there is a gate pier topped with a spherical finial. The plinth wall under the railings across the front of Hawke House has stone coping and urn finials on the principal rails. This listing is included for its group value only.
