Description
The two matching lodges to Royal Earlswood Hospital date from the mid-19th century and are located on opposite sides of the drive leading to the hospital. They are constructed of rendered brick with quoins at the corners and openings that feature rusticated keystones. The lodges have slated gabled roofs, tall brick chimney stacks, and projecting eaves adorned with patterned bargeboards and finials. They are designed in an L-plan and rise to two stories. Each lodge has a gabled porch positioned at the angle facing the drive, with a gable end that includes one sash window on the first floor and two narrower sash windows on the ground floor. The gable ends that face the road have one sash window at the first floor level and a canted bay window on the ground floor. The interiors have not been inspected.
