Description

Wellhead is a timber-framed house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features a gently rounded tiled gambrel roof with extended eaves on three sides and an old compound stack that rises through the roof to the north. The house has two storeys, with five bays on the ground floor and three above. The front is faced in coursed freestone, although some brick-filled timber framing is visible at the sides. The windows are modern casements, some of which are leaded, and there is a projecting pointed bay that replaces the door at the center of the ground floor. A modern dormer is located at the rear.
