Description

Numbers 16 and 18 on School Hill are a late medieval timber-framed hall house that has undergone alterations. The building is two storeys high and features four irregularly placed windows. It has a high-pitched tiled roof with a long left hip and a gablet. A chimney stack, dating from around 1600, rises through the ridge. The first floor is decorated with fancy tile-hanging, while the ground floor is made of red brick. The windows are leaded casements of varying sizes, and there are plank doors located under gabled hoods supported by brackets. Numbers 16 to 26 (even) are part of a group.
