Description
The barn at Pleystowe Farm is a C16 structure with alterations dating to the C18. It is timber framed and sits upon a brick plinth with render cladding above, the upper walls being weatherboarded, and has a plain tiled roof. The barn has four bays, featuring opposing waggon doors located to the left of the center. The roof extends out on braces to the rear. Inside, the bay over the throughway has a crown post roof with braced bases, although the end bracing is now missing. Further features include queen-struts to clasped purlins, truncated over the throughway, and a cut-off collar purlin at the ends. Re-used timbers are present in the flanking bays, and arched bracing can be seen on the walls. A single-story shed with a corrugated-iron roof, situated to the left, is not of particular architectural interest.
