CAPEL C.P. TEMPLE LANE TQ 14SE 8/109 Aldhurst Farmhouse 11/11/66 GV II

Hall house. Early C16 with later C16 extensions at right angles, C19 extensions formerly on the rear, now fronting the street. Timber framed, clad below on rear in chequerwork pattern grey and brown brick, brick above; colourwashed render infill to exposed end frames and on original range. Horsham slab roofs except for range to north which has plain tiles and hipped ends. L-shaped plan, old range now across rear. Two storeys, 3 framed bays with leaded casement fenestration. Central door in corrugated-iron,arched porch. Pentice to ground floor left and stack to rear at junction with extensions forming range to street. Extensions:- Roofs stepping up to right. Ogee arched bracing on first floor. Mixed diamond-pane and square-pane leaded casement fenestration with four windows on the first floor and three windows below. Door to right of centre in open gabled porch to lobby entry under C19 stack. Further C19 stacks on right hand extension fronting the street.
