Description
The Cottage is an 18th-century cottage located on Woodfield Lane in Ashtead. It is built from white-painted handmade brick and features a red tiled roof, with flint and weatherboard additions. The cottage has a single-depth, two-unit plan, with a continuous rear outshut and a lean-to addition on the right-hand side. It stands two storeys high and has two bays. The central doorway has a board door and is sheltered by a small wooden canopy. Each floor features a single-light casement window on the left and a two-light casement window on the right, all with glazing bars; the ground floor windows have segmental heads. An extruded chimney is located at the right-hand gable, which is covered by a full-height lean-to that has a flint side wall and weatherboarded front and rear. The rear outshut has a catslide roof. The interior has not been inspected. The left end of the cottage adjoins No.33.
