Description

This is a 19th-century stone vault located 30 yards northwest of the tower of the Church of St. Lawrence in Effingham. It stands approximately 10 feet high on a stepped plinth. The vault features a moulded base with panelled sides beneath a cornice and entablature. It has a stepped base leading to a ribbed shell socket that supports a spherical finial. This structure is included for its group value with the nearby church.
