Description
Middle Farm House is a house from the 17th century that was restored and re-roofed in the 19th century. It features a timber frame, with a rendered brick base and square framing of thin scantling above, which is exposed with whitewashed brick infill. The roof is plain tiled and the house has two storeys. There is a front stack at the right end and a rear stack at the left, with a larger rear stack on a plinth that has a ribbed shaft and a part-rendered, corbelled top. The house consists of four framed bays and has a gabled projection to the right of the centre. The windows are arranged irregularly, with four on the first floor and one in the gabled projection that cuts into the timbers. On the ground floor, there are five windows under cambered relieving arches, including one metal casement to the right. A 20th-century door is located at the centre in a pentice-roofed addition to the gabled projection, with a further rendered extension to the left end. Inside, some framing is exposed, mainly on the ceilings.
