Description
Brook Farm House is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century, possibly built around an older core. It features red brick construction on a galleted sandstone plinth and has a hipped plain tiled roof. The house is three storeys high and includes plat bands over the ground and first floors, as well as a moulded string course at the eaves. There are rear end stacks. The front of the house is symmetrical with five bays and has 12-pane glazing bar sash windows. The second floor has four windows, with the centre window blocked, while the first floor has five windows, all under gauged brick heads, with those on the ground and first floors set beneath cambered arches. The central half-glazed door is accessed by a flight of three steps and is sheltered by a flat hood supported by scroll brackets. There is a lower extension set back to the right. Inside, there is a brick fireplace with a curved back.
