Description
No. 75 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the mid-18th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The front is made of red brick, featuring a whitewashed shop front below. There is a timber projecting bay in the center and a plain tiled Mansard roof. The building has three storeys and attics, with one flat-roofed dormer that has three lights. There are stacks at both ends on the rear.
A large 20th-century projecting bay window extends through the first and second floors, topped with a cornice that has modillions. Each face of the bay window has one cross window on both floors, with a quartered frame pattern between the second and first floors. On the ground floor, there are double arched windows supported by iron scroll brackets at the ends, which hold up the bay above. A door is set in a recess to the right. At the rear, there are taller tile-hung and brick extensions.
