Description
Ladas Gate Lodge to The Durdans is a late 19th-century lodge located on the west side of Ashley Road in Epsom. It is constructed of red brick and features a pyramidal slate roof with a central brick chimney. The building has one storey and attics, with a tripartite casement window and a single-light segment headed casement, both with glazing bars.
The lodge includes a verandah supported by "Jacobethan" Doric columns that have entasis and high bases, which are connected by a balustrade featuring turned balusters and a closed string. The frieze of the verandah is decorated with widely spaced triglyphs, and there is a flat hood over the entrance to the verandah, supported by scrolled consoles. Each side of the building has a flat-topped attic dormer, which contains casements and dentilled cornices.
