Description

The boundary wall to No 1 Woodcote Mews dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. The rear face shows some remnants of 17th-century brickwork in the lower courses, while the majority of the wall is 18th-century. Standing at nearly 9 feet high, it is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with a cambered top. This wall was originally part of the garden walls of Westgate House, which was formerly known as Woodcote Place, located in Chalk Lane.
