Almshouse pair. Circa 1912, possibly by Frank Atkinson. Red brick, roughcast in gables, with plain tiled roofs, hipped over projecting centre bay. Central panelled ridge stack with end stacks to left and right of centre. Symmetrical , single storey with projecting square bay to centre and gabled, projecting bays to ends. Leaded casement fenestration, four windows across, the outer ones bowed . Planked and ribbed doors in recessed porches flanking centre bay with braced wooden piers across the front. Wood latticed oval in stone surround to centre of each gable with inscription to corners of surround: "W.W. 1912) Whiteley Village wasprovided by William Whiteley of Whiteley's stores for thrifty old folk and was laid out on an octagonal plan by Frank Atkinson, employing leading architects of the day.
