Description
95 High Street is a house dating from the early 17th century, with 19th century alterations and 20th century additions to the rear. It has a timber framed core with rendered cladding on the front, whitewashed brick at the bottom, and weatherboard cladding above on the left side. The building stands four storeys high with an attic in the centre. It features a pedimented gable parapet with scrolls on either side, which contains an arched casement window. The façade is three bays wide, with a plat band above the ground floor, a projecting tiled wooden cornice over the first floor, and a flat band over the second floor. The second floor has casement windows with drip mouldings, while the first floor has glazing bar sash windows in architrave surrounds with projecting cills. The ground floor also features 19th century glazing bar sash windows. The central entrance has a part-glazed door in a lugged architrave surround with a keystone above, sheltered by a flat hood on volute brackets with guttae stops. There is a 20th century single storey addition on the right side, an arched niche on the left side, and 20th century tile-hung extensions at the rear.
