Description

This is a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century. They are timber-framed with brown brick cladding, and a red brick pier at the right end. The roofs are tiled, with a ridge stack on the left end and an end stack at the rear right. The cottages are two storeys high, with five leaded casement windows across the first floor. The ground floor windows are set under cambered heads. A part-glazed door, with two leaded and arched panels in a pentice roof porch on wooden supports, is located to the left of centre (Keeper's Cottage). A similar door, also leaded and panelled and with a pentice roof porch on wooden supports, is on the right (Walnut Cottage). There is a catslide roof to the rear. Inside, some exposed timber framing is visible in the ceilings and partitions.
