Description

This is a lamp post located approximately 30 yards north of number 4 on Octagon Road in Whiteley Village, dating from around 1912. It is made of cast iron and features a square, four-legged base with a diagonally framed basket top. The lamp post has a tapering standard with a lantern that is topped with a decorative finial, supported by a double scroll-work, S-curve arm.
