Description

This building is a house that dates back to the 17th century and was remodeled in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with a brick stack at the rear. The house has a two-unit through-passage plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a symmetrical three-window front. The windows have rendered lintels with dripcourses above a 20th-century sill-panelled door and mid to late 19th-century three-light casements. There are also two gabled roof dormers with mid to late 19th-century two-light casements. At the rear, there is a 17th-century four-light wood diamond-mullioned window.

Inside, the passage reveals timber framing, while the room to the left features a mid-18th-century panelled dado and a stone lintel over the fireplace. The interior includes 17th-century plank doors, stop-chamfered beams, and quarter-turn stairs. The roof is a four-bay collar-truss design with butt purlins. The attached range at the rear, known as 18A and 18B, was remodeled in the 18th century and connects to a mid-18th-century cottage (18C), which encloses a rear courtyard. Both structures are made from similar materials and have 20th-century doors and windows, with 18C featuring a brick pointed-arched blocked doorway. Additionally, there is a tall limestone rubble wall, stone-coped, that extends approximately 35 meters to the rear.
