Description
Thatcher's Place is a house dating from the early 17th century, with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof, with end stacks finished in 20th-century brick. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall, with a two-window range. The central entrance has a 20th-century door and porch, and the windows are also from the 20th century, originally being mullioned but still retaining 13th-century chamfered surrounds. The left gable end includes a 17th-century chamfered one-light and two-light stone-mullioned windows. There are 19th and 20th-century extensions to the right. Inside, the house features stop-chamfered beams and an open fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressumer. The roof is a collar-truss design with butt purlins.
