Description
Rose Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled roof covered with decorative tiles from the 19th century, along with brick stacks at each end. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a two-window range. A central porch and door from the 20th century are present, with timber lintels above the 20th-century windows. To the front left, there is a mid-19th-century service range. Inside, the cottage includes a chamfered beam and an open fireplace with a bressumer, next to a winder staircase that leads to the attic. The roof structure consists of a two-bay collar-truss design with butt purlins.
