Description

The Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, which was remodelled in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof, with Welsh slates on the rear. The building has brick end stacks and a three-unit outshut plan. It stands two storeys high and has a four-window range. The entrance includes a 20th-century door and porch, while the windows are late 19th and 20th-century three-light casements with timber lintels. Inside, there are chamfered beams, and the central room features a 17th-century stop-chamfered beam and a similar bressumer above an open fireplace with a truncated stone stack. The Cottage is included for its group value.
