Description
Labernum Cottages are two cottages located on Station Road in Brize Norton. They date from the mid-18th century and feature mid-19th century windows. The cottages are built from coursed limestone rubble and have a gabled stone slate roof, with a ridge stack made of stone finished in 20th-century brick. The design includes a 2-unit plan, with two storeys and a two-window range. Each outer bay has a 20th-century plank door with timber lintels above, and there are mid-19th century horned two-pane sash windows also with timber lintels. The interior of each cottage includes stop-chamfered beams and an open fireplace, which has a bread oven to the left. The roof structure is a butt-purlin design. The rear of the cottages has not been inspected.
