Description
The granary and farm building, located approximately 20 metres northeast of Tyte Farmhouse, dates from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with wooden lintels and features roofs made of Welsh slate and Stanesfield slate. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall.
The main range has three windows and includes a first-floor doorway to the left of centre, which is accessed by stone steps, as well as a ground-floor doorway at the extreme right. The right bay of the structure is older. There is a single-unit building that projects to the right, which may be the earliest part of the granary; it has a stone slate roof and features a doorway in the gable wall with a window above it.
Inside, the lower floor of the main range is significantly below ground level. This building is included for its group value with nearby structures.
