Description

Orchard Cottage is a small house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with wooden lintels and features thatch and plain-tile roofs, along with ashlar and rendered gable stacks. The building has a two-unit plan with a service wing.

The cottage stands two storeys high, with its entrance front positioned at right angles to the road. This facade includes a central four-panel door, a two-light window to the right, and a small canted bay to the left. Above the door, there is a small lattice window. To the left, a lower tiled service bay features 20th-century windows. The rear of the main range has three first-floor casements, one of which has three lattice lights, and a five-light canted bay window set on an ashlar base with a stone-slated roof. The left gable of the main roof is adorned with a double-shafted ashlar stack that has a plinth and a moulded cap.

The interior has not been inspected.
