Description
This house, located at 34 West End, dates from around 1760 and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a stucco front featuring banded rustication on the ground floor. It has a gabled stone slate roof and a brick stack at one end. The building follows a central-staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a symmetrical three-window façade. The entrance features a mid-19th century six-panelled door with a decorative fanlight, set within a mid-18th century moulded stone architrave topped with a bracketed open pediment. Above the door, there are 8-pane sash windows flanking tripartite sashes. The house also includes two gabled roof dormers, each with 2-light casements that have glazing bars. At the rear, there is a mid-19th century two-storey extension. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
