Description
No. 25 West End is a house dating from the late 17th century, with an extension added in the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of squared and coursed limestone and features a gabled stone slate roof, with a stone stack finished in brick at the left end. The building has an L-plan layout with a rear left wing and stands two storeys high, presenting a two-window range.
The entrance is marked by a mid-19th century six-panelled door, two of which are glazed, set beneath an early 18th century bracketed flat hood. The ground floor windows include a tripartite sash with stop-chamfered timber lintels, while the upper floor features 2-pane sashes. The rear wing is built from similar materials and has a brick end stack.
Inside, the house has stop-chamfered beams, and the room to the left contains an open fireplace with large stones forming the jambs. The property is noted for its collar-truss roof supported by butt purlins.
