Description

This is a house dating from around 1730. It is constructed from roughly squared limestone rubble, with a rendered front elevation. The roof is covered in concrete tiles, with some original stone slates and Welsh slates to the rear, and features brick end stacks. The house has a two-unit plan, with a rear outshut. It is two storeys high, with a two-window front. The front door is a mid-19th century six-panelled door set within a decorative wooden architrave, complete with console brackets supporting a flat hood. The windows are 20th-century sash windows, set beneath timber lintels. A service range is located to the rear left, constructed of limestone rubble and featuring gabled stone slate roofs. Inside, there is a fine mid-18th century dog-leg staircase with a closed string and turned balusters. The building is included on the listing for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
