Description

54 and 56 West End is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled concrete tile roof with brick stacks at either end. The building has a four-unit plan and is two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a four-window range. There are timber lintels above the adjoining 20th-century doors in the center, 20th-century casements, and a 19th-century three-light casement window on the top right. The house includes two gabled roof dormers and has an 18th-century outshut with a Welsh slate roof at the rear of No. 56. The interior of No. 56 has a collar-truss roof with butt purlins, while No. 54 has not been inspected.
