Description
34A West End is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with brick end stacks. The house has a two-unit plan, stands two storeys tall with an attic, and has a two-window range.
The front entrance consists of a mid-19th century six-panelled door with an overlight, which is set within a moulded wood architrave that includes fluted pilasters and a moulded cornice. The windows feature concrete-rendered lintels above tripartite sashes and a two-pane sash. A gabled roof dormer contains a two-light casement with glazing bars. At the rear, there is an outshut and a mid-19th century two-storey wing. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest.
