Description
Witney House is a house dating from the early 18th century that was refronted around 1860. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a stucco front featuring rusticated pilaster strips and has a gabled stone slate roof with stone end stacks. The house has a central-staircase plan that was extended in the mid-19th century to a double-depth plan. It stands two storeys high and has a five-window range. The entrance features a mid-19th century six-panelled door with a decorative overlight, set within a moulded wood architrave that has console-brackets supporting a flat hood. The windows are 2-pane sashes set in moulded stone architraves. There is a mid-19th century extension at the rear. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have a 19th century staircase.
