Description

The so-called "Chapel," located about 10 yards north-west of the Old Prebendal, is an outbuilding that incorporates features from a demolished chapel. It has elements from the 14th and 15th centuries set within a mid-19th century structure, with a date panel indicating 1900. The building is constructed of rubble and features a Cotswold stone roof, coped verges, and saddlestones. The north-east gable wall connects to the back of the Old Prebendal and includes one of the re-set arches. There are two pointed 14th-century archways with florets in a rebated chamfer; one leads to the yard at the rear of the Old Prebendal, and the other leads to an outhouse. The right-hand doorway is incomplete, and the flanking imposts suggest an arcade. The archways are flanked by cusp-head lancets with label drips. To the east, there is an 'L'-plan range with irregular openings, and the return wall to the south-east features a chamfered archway at the south-west end.
