Description
No. 7 Market Street is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is built of coursed limestone rubble with a rendered front and features a hipped concrete tile roof with a brick stack at one end. The house has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a two-window range. The entrance consists of a 19th-century six-panelled door with an overlight. Above the door, there are two mid to late 19th-century plate-glass sash windows. The ground floor has a three-storey canted bay window, with a widened bay featuring 19th-century casements that have glazing bars, framed by pilasters with paterae. The upper floors have plate-glass sashes. The property includes two three-storey blocks with hipped roofs and a two-storey gabled wing at the rear, all constructed from similar materials. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
